Gilchrist opening the batting as usual scored his consecutive fifty, but a dismal batting towards the end of the innings meant that the Chargers only put up 140 runs on board for the Royals to chase. After Yogesh Takewala who made it to IPL Mumbai its VijayKumar’s turn whos father, David is a construction labourer and mother Sarawathi, a small time vegetable vendor. VijayKumar made his Ranji debut for Andhra in Dec 2006 against Baroda, and has played 11 first class matches taking 34 wickets at an average of just over 22 and a miserly economy of 2.38 runs an over. The stylish Hyderabadi International cricket player VVS Laxman will captain the untitled IPL Hyderabad team. “Ours is going to be one of the favourite teams in IPL, going forward,” J Krishnan, president and chief executive officer, Cricket Initiative of Deccan Chronicle, said on Monday in an announcement. Deccan Chronicle Group who won the IPL Hyderbad franchise bid will play a minimum of 14 matches in twenty20 format in the inagural DFL-IPL cricket series starting in April.
